Common questions
Where is my data stored?
On your device, in Solo's own storage. Solo has no servers, no account, and no cloud
component, and it sends nothing anywhere. Your device's own backups (iCloud or a
computer) include it, and an export goes wherever you share it. Deleting the app
deletes the ledger from the device, so export it first if you want a copy.
How does the natural-language entry work?
On devices with Apple Intelligence, your text is read by Apple's on-device model.
On other devices, a built-in parser reads common phrasings. Either way, Solo doesn't
send the text anywhere. Check the filled-in form before you record.
Which broker exports can I import?
Wealthsimple activity exports (activities-export*.csv);
Solo reads the option trades in them. Rows already imported are skipped.
From version 0.2.1, if a trade you logged by hand matches an imported fill (same
contract, side, day and number of contracts), Solo keeps one copy: your entry, with
the broker's price and fees, and your journal. In 0.2.0, a trade both logged by hand
and imported is counted twice; 0.2.1 offers to merge these. Solo is not affiliated
with Wealthsimple.
Is Solo financial advice?
No. Solo is a journal. It records what you did and helps you reflect on it.
It does not recommend, predict, or execute trades. Check its figures against your
broker's statements before you rely on them.
