Privacy policy
The short version: Solo keeps your ledger on your device and sends it nowhere. We don't collect it.
Who we are
Solo is made by Mark Martin, Canada (shown as the seller on the App Store), who is responsible for this policy. Privacy questions and requests: hello@clockmath.com.
What Solo stores, and where
Your trades, journal entries (including the emotions you tag), playbooks and settings are stored in the app's own storage on your device. Solo has no servers and no accounts, and it makes no network requests: the app itself sends none of this anywhere.
Two things can move a copy off the device, both under your control:
- Device backups. If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, the backup includes Solo's data, as it does for most apps. That is handled by Apple and your device settings, not by Solo.
- Exports. Settings > Export ledger creates a CSV and a JSON file and opens the share sheet. The files go only where you send them. Solo deletes its temporary copies when the share sheet closes (and, from version 0.2.1, again at the next launch, in case it was interrupted).
What we collect
Nothing through the app. Solo contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. The App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected".
If you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports for Solo. These come from Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, and contain technical details about the crash, not your ledger.
Trade entry ("Describe the trade")
On devices with Apple Intelligence, the text you type is read by Apple's on-device model. On other devices, a parser built into Solo reads it. Either way, Solo doesn't send the text off the device.
Imports
A CSV you import is read on the device and its trades are saved to Solo's storage. Solo doesn't upload it.
Face ID and passcode
If you turn on the ledger lock, iOS checks your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode and tells Solo only whether it succeeded. Solo never receives your biometric data or your passcode.
Reminders
The optional daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device, with fixed text. No server is involved.
Deleting your data
Trades you logged by hand can be deleted one at a time from the trade's page. From version 0.2.1, Settings > Erase all data deletes every trade, journal entry and playbook in Solo and resets its settings, after Face ID or your passcode. In earlier versions, imported trades are removed by deleting the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device. Copies in device backups, or in exports you've shared, are not affected; delete those where they're kept.
Support requests
The support tracker is public on GitHub, so anything posted there can be seen by anyone. Please don't post trade figures, screenshots of your ledger or personal details there. For anything private, email hello@clockmath.com. We use what you send only to answer you, and keep emails only as long as needed to do so.
Your rights
We hold no personal data from the app, so there is nothing of yours on our side to access, correct or delete, except a support email you send us. Ask at the address above and we'll answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Solo is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly receive information from them.
Changes
If a future version changes any of the above, for example by adding optional sync, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date below will change.
